I used Farplay yesterday with a friend and it worked well.

Today I’m trying to use it with a different friend and it’s giving me a connection error and we can’t get connected. It popped up a window about “if you updated to Sequoia lately…” so I clicked the link and the app was already given permission to access the local network.

Any ideas?

Dear Sean,

Thank you for your question. Ask your internet provider whether they can give you a public IP. Some providers let you get a public IP by paying a small monthly add-on fee or by upgrading your internet plan. If your provider offers a dynamic public IP and a static public IP, either is fine (dynamic is usually less expensive).

Could you share which internet providers you and the friend you couldn’t connect with use?
