External monitor stops sound from second musician

To get a larger image from my windows 11 vga laptop, I am trying to connect to an RCA HD TV which has a vga input. When using Farplay with a fellow musician, I get the larger imagery on the RCA screen, but I do not get sound from the second musician through my headphones which are attached to the laptop. I do not have this problem when using a regular computer monitor.

Thanks for your message. When sound isn’t coming out of your headphones, please look in FarPlay’s Devices subpanel and use the Headphones pull-down menu to pick the headphones you want to use.
Alternatively, right-click the speaker next to the battery (bottom-right corner of desktop), click Sound Settings, and then choose the headphones you want to use in the Output section. This is a system-wide setting (so you can hear audio from other apps, not just FarPlay, in your PC’s headphones when your HDTV is connected).
When an HDTV is connected (typically via HDMI), a PC might try to play sound through the external HDTV, rather than through the PC’s headphones.
