Dear Nona,
First, please check that each participant uses wired headphones (for example, wired Apple EarBuds work great). If that doesn’t fix the echo, have each participant visit our Troubleshooting Guide and check out the suggestions under “I hear myself in my headphones”.
If you could share screenshots showing FarPlay’s main window, Preferences > General Options, and Input Mixer (if used) on your computer and your partner’s computer, I’d be happy to take a look and give customized suggestions.
