Far Play will not save settings

  • Dear Todd,

Thanks for your screen recording. Please run this installer from Microsoft to update some files FarPlay needs (earlier forum post is here). This will fix the problems.

Feel free to uninstall the Helix ASIO driver too. ASIO drivers continue to appear in audio-device lists when the actual devices are not connected.

    Thank you,
    David Liao

    David….

Thank you for the superfast response. I will install those files.

I was able to get it to work. What I first did was remove the Helix driver. Then I got a new message…unable to use Scarlett Thunderbolt driver. So it seemed to me FarPlay was starting at the top of the list and going down, as the Thunderbolt was the second driver in the list. So I removed the Thunderbolt driver. Luckily for me, the next driver down the list was the regular Scarlett driver…..so this seemed to work. Interestingly enough, I still cannot “Save” that choice, it defaults to “System Default” on the main screen, but once inside a session, it was showing the correct driver/interface..

    Dear Todd,

Thank you for your update. Once you run the installer for the files from Microsoft linked above, you will be able to save your audio-device selections. FarPlay was crashing when trying to save audio-device selections because the files from Microsoft were out of date.

    Thank you,
    David Liao
