My student/partner says they can’t use Ethernet because their router and computer are in different rooms, and they don’t want to run a 100-ft Ethernet cable in their home.

Some of our users simply unroll their Ethernet cable for each lesson, then roll it back up afterwards. This is still much easier than physically going to a lesson, and provides the amazing benefit of being able to play together in real time. Alternatively, ask the student/partner whether they can move their computer near the router just for the duration of the lesson/rehearsal. Then perhaps a 10-ft or 25-ft Ethernet cable will be all they need.
If using an Ethernet connection in the home is impossible, FarPlay can still be used over Wi-Fi, but it’s likely the latency will make rhythmic music making very difficult or impossible.
