Support for L4S low latency standards

  • Hi Jay,

Thank you for your question about L4S. I will ask another team member for feedback.

Between San Francisco and Florida, I’d expect a latency in the ballpark of 45 ms with good connections (indeed, ~75-105 ms is high). Could each participant check that they’ve plugged the Ethernet cable from their computer into the router that receives the fiber/cable signal where that signal first enters their home and that they’ve turned Wi-Fi off on their computer?

These tips are part of our QuickStart guide — going through the QuickStart guide will likely solve the problem. If you still have high latency, could you share each participant’s computer (Mac or Windows) and audio equipment? If you’d like to browse more tips right away, check out our Troubleshooting Guide‘s “Latency is too high” section.

    Thank you,
    David Liao

    Dear Jay,

Thank you again for your question about L4S. We don’t currently implement it but we’re looking into it.

    Thank you,
    David Liao
