Zoom H4n ASIO driver settings
-
Hi everyone,
If you’re not getting any mic audio from a Zoom H4n handheld recorder on a Windows PC, use the steps below:
- Download and install your H4n’s ASIO drivers from Zoom.
- Connect your H4n to your PC. When the H4n’s screen displays the USB-mode menu, choose Audio I/F.
- When the H4n displays the USB Audio I/F menu, set the Frequency to 48 kHz. Then, choose Connect.
- In FarPlay, go to Preferences > General Options. Click ASIO Buffer Settings. In the Zoom H4n’s control panel on your PC, go to the Zoom H Series Multi Track Audio page and make sure the sample rate is 48000 Hz. Go to the ASIO Settings page and set the Buffer Size to 192 Samples (not the lower buffer sizes of 16, 32, or 64 samples we recommend for other audio interfaces).
I was supporting a user today whose H4n wasn’t sending any mic audio to FarPlay on their Windows PC. Using the sample rate of 48000 Hz and ASIO buffer size of 192 samples fixed the problem.
Thank you,
David Liao
