FarPlay on LAN – without external internet
-
Hi there!
I have been using FarPlay for remote inter-venue performances and it’s been great. For an upcoming show, I’m performing between two spaces within the same venue, using a LAN (all devices connected via ethernet to the same router). However, the venue’s external internet is patchy and unreliable.
I’d like to continue using FarPlay in the show architecture, but it doesn’t seem to work without an internet connection – the session ends when the internet drops out.
Seeing as FarPlay is peer-to-peer, is there any way to run it without an internet connection if all users are on a local network? I can use internet to establish the initial connection but there is a chance it will drop out.
Other info:
– Farplay will run on both PC and Mac
– I have external audio interfaces for each device
