Bring system audio into FarPlay using a Neumann MT 48 audio interface

  • Hi everyone,

One of our YouTube videos showing how to bring system audio into FarPlay using BlackHole and our Input Mixer received a comment asking whether there was a way to get the same result with a Neumann MT 48 audio interface.

Yes! If you’re monitoring with headphones on the MT 48’s Headphone 1 output and you’ve turned off speakers plugged into the Speakers A outputs (if any), do this:

    • On the MT 48, go to Settings > USB I/O. In the Inputs Routed to Computer section, make sure Bus Return Mix 1 (channels 25-26) is switched on. Scroll down to Software Playback > Software Playback to MT 48 Mixer and make sure DAW 1 (channels 1-2) and DAW 2 (channels 3-4) are both switched on.
    • Press the MT 48’s physical Speakers A button. Drag DAW 2’s fader all the way down.
    • In FarPlay’s Preferences > General Options, set the Microphone to MT 48, Stereo, and channels 25-26 and set the Headphones to MT 48, Stereo, and channels 3-4.
    • To adjust how loud FarPlay’s remote audio and the computer’s system audio sound in headphones plugged into the MT 48’s Headphones 1 jack, press the MT 48’s physical Headphones 1 button and slide DAW 1’s fader up/down to increase/decrease the volume of system audio and drag DAW 2’s fader up/down to increase/decrease the volume of remote audio from FarPlay. Adjust the mix in headphones plugged into the Headphones 2 jack by pressing the physical Headphones 2 button and sliding the faders for DAW 1 and DAW 2 in the same way.

    Enjoy,
