Digital External Mixer and FarPlay

  • Dear Grayson,

Thank you for your post. To send a mix of your local band members’ audio from your CQ18T into FarPlay for the remote participants to hear, create a “mix-minus” mix and then go to FarPlay’s Preferences > General Options and change the Microphone to CQ18T – Audio and the channel layout to Stereo. Try setting the channels to channels 1-2. If channels 1-2 don’t work, try other channel pairs, if available (sorry, I don’t have a CQ to test).

Alternatively, use FarPlay’s Input Mixer to mix the individual input channels on the CQ18T using the steps in this other forum thread.

Note: Alabama and especially London are quite far from California, so latency will limit the styles you can play together. For samples of performance styles possible at different distances, see our blog post “How far apart can you play music together?”.

    Thank you,
    David Liao
