Dear FarPlay Users,

Yesterday, a voice teacher wanted to know how to get rid of a delayed echo of the student’s voice that the student heard in their headphones. The teacher is a veteran FarPlay user and so used wired headphones, and the student had tried dragging the Monitor slider in their You (…) subpanel all the way to the left.

It turns out the student was on Windows. When a musician using Windows continues to hear an echo of themselves after checking the items above, have them do the following.

• Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
• Click More Sound Settings (Windows 11) or Sound Control Panel (Windows 10).
• Click the Recording tab.
• Double-click the microphone from the list of recording devices.
• Click the Listen tab. Uncheck Listen to this device. Press OK.
