remote lesson that don’t need low latency

Hi, I take music lessons from Vancouver Canada with a teacher in northern Ukraine. I use fibre connection, direct ethernet to my PC, focusright Scarlett Solo and Amazon mic. My teacher has a Pc running over Wifi. Given the war in Ukraine, getting a better setup for her is very difficult. Will Farplay work to give her decent quality audio/video to see and hear hear me play, and for me to see and hear her comments after I have finished playing? As I play solo, i don’t need the low latency just quality sound and video for her to be able to teach me.

Fantastic question! Yes, FarPlay works over Wi-Fi for lessons with turn taking. FarPlay’s own CEO Dan Tepfer uses Wi-Fi to teach piano lessons where playing together in sync is not needed. With a good Wi-Fi connection, you can get excellent audio/video quality. We encourage you to use FarPlay’s free mode to test how FarPlay works for you and your teacher.
