Achieving minimal Latency

Hello,
I am trying to achieve a latency close to the 10 ms latency promoted on the website. Currently, our latency is around 60-65 ms. Here are the setups my students and I currently have:Both use Mac computers, OS Ventura
Both use audio interfaces, and my local latency is 3 ms
Both computers are connected to our routers via an ethernet cable.
Both of us have high-speed internet. My download rate is roughly 800megabits/sec, his 650Mbits/sec
My upload is 23Mbits/sec, and his 56Mbits/sec.We are committed to getting it as low as we can. 65ms is a little too slow for real-time performance, but I think if we could get it to 20ms, we would be all set

Dear Nicolas, Thank you for your setup details.
- Please check that the router you’ve connected your computer to (using your Ethernet cable) is the “main” router that is directly connected to the outside world. Please make sure you’re not connected through a mesh satellite/extender/secondary router or an Ethernet-over-Power/Powerline adapter.
- Try dragging the latency slider as far to the left as you can (stop when the amount of crackling is as high as you can comfortably tolerate). Then, to keep latency stable, click the Auto button to turn Auto latency adjustment off.
(Please have your student try the above items too).
How far apart are you and your student located? I get ~10 ms latencies when connecting to someone nearby (example: neighboring State) and on the same fiber internet service provider (fiber has lower latency than cable). A latency under 40 ms is possible between San Francisco and New York under good conditions.
