Upgrading from a 1Gb wired connection to a 10Gb wired connection doesn’t make a noticeable difference in the distances over which you can play together. Both for 1Gb and 10Gb wired connections, you can play lots of styles together 1500 km apart, and you can play some slower, less rhythmically precise styles even 5000+ km apart, like in the examples linked above.
With both wired 1Gb and 10Gb connections, there’s plenty of bandwidth. The limitation is the speed of light, which takes a small, but musically noticeable, amount of time to travel across thousands of km. As you play with musicians who are farther and farther away, the delay increases (but the audio quality remains clear).
