Hi Pappa,
Thank you for signing up, and thanks for your question.
Yes, our mixer instructions show you how to bring system audio into your FarPlay session (look especially at the instructions in section 3). FarPlay’s mixer lets you bring audio into your session from a DAW or, for example, a YouTube video in a web browser.
How many session participants would you like to broadcast your audio to?
Thank you,
David Liao
Hi David,
Thanks for your reply. I was actually referring to routing the audio internally played from a digital media source or ‘Digital Audio Workstation’ into Farplay so both parties can hear. And simultaneously be able to chat over it using a earphone piece (Classic Apple Earpod with mic).
Is there an ideal workaround for this arrangement? It will be great to be able to discuss studio mix recordings played simultaneously over headphones preferably. Look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Pappa,
Yes, we recommend opening FarPlay’s input mixer to bring audio from a DAW into FarPlay so that everyone in a session can hear:
Please open FarPlay’s mixer instructions. Under Choose Your Setup at the top of that page, make sure your computer is selected (Mac or Windows). Look through the steps, especially in section 3. Then, in your DAW, set your audio output device to the virtual sound card you used to bring audio into your mixer. To hear your local mix (including audio from your DAW), look in FarPlay’s main window for the Monitor slider under You (…) and drag that slider to the right.
Thank you,
David Liao
