Farplay sound used in a zoom meeting?

    Hello,

My name is Linor and I was on a workshop you guys gave on Fabiana Claure’s program. I was immediately sold on Farplay because I understood that you don’t need necessarily to replace zoom but you can do a zoom meeting and use the sound from farplay. However, I am now subscribed (teacher’s account) and I cannot find a tutorial or explanation how to set up the audio on zoom to come in from Farplay. Will you help me with that please?

Thanks and keep up the good work
    Linor

  • Hi Linor!

    Thanks for your question.

To bring audio from FarPlay into Zoom (like when you, in Zoom, listened to Dan and me perform “Happy Birthday” on FarPlay), follow our our instructions for livestreaming with FarPlay’s Broadcast Output feature.

When using Broadcast Output, a group of musicians plays together using FarPlay installed on their computers, and their audio is piped from FarPlay into Zoom for an audience of listeners who aren’t using FarPlay. With fast connections, the group of musicians on FarPlay can have up to around 8 participants (we know of a group where 10+ members sometimes rehearse on FarPlay). The number of audience members listening through Zoom can be large, like in a normal Zoom meeting.

    Thank you,
    David Liao
