Video not in sync with audio: camera latency?

Hi,
I´m a newcomer to FarPlay and have only made one trial setup. I used seperate videocamaeras at both ends: Marshall Electronics POV-cameras connected through ATOMOS Connect HDMI to USB converter.
I did not adjust the outgoing bandwidth or framerate in the videosettings (I´ll do that next time I try).
I experienced a noticeable lag in the videosignal. At best we reached 14-16 ms latency, but this was just for short moments. We mostly landed on 18-19 ms and the video and audio was not in sync whwn doing handclap tests.
So, it seems that the video was causing the sync problem – which, I guess, is the usual problem when sending both audio and video.
My questions:
Is it best (latency-wise) to stick to the internal webcam?
If using an external camera, what camera-make/type of connection/video settings do you recommend?

With available cameras, it’s normal for video latency to be noticeably higher than audio latency. Try playing according just to what you hear — the 18-19 ms of audio latency you’re getting will let you play as though you’re in the same room.

If you’d still like to improve audio-video sync, try using the built-in FaceTime camera on a pre-M1 Mac, if available.

Are you optimizing audio-video sync for a live show? If so, use FarPlay’s Broadcast Output feature to send live audio from FarPlay to your livestream app (through a virtual sound card).
