unable to connect to session

  • Hi Kay,

Thanks for your message. Connectivity is the same with or without a subscription.

First, keep the default firewall settings on your ATT hub and try the following (you might only need to try a couple suggestions).

    • Go to your Mac’s System Settings > Privacy & Security. Choose Local Network. Click the toggle switch to give FarPlay permission. This fixes an issue that affected some macOS Sequoia users.
    • In System Settings > Network, do the following:

      • Turn your Mac’s Firewall off if it’s active.
      • Look for a Filtering section. If you find one, turn all network filtering off.
      • Look for a VPN section. If you find one, turn VPN off. You might also find settings for turning VPNs off in 3rd-party software, like Malwarebytes.
    • If you’re using Ethernet (please use Ethernet if making music together in rhythmic sync), make sure the Ethernet cable plugged into your MacBook Air’s USB adapter is connected to the router that receives the internet signal where it first enters the home (avoid wireless repeater/extender routers and Ethernet-over-power adapters). On your Mac, turn Wi-Fi off.
    • When you try to connect to Alex, do you get an error message that starts with “FarPlay couldn’t establish a connection between you and other participants.”? If so, could you share a screenshot of that message as it appears on your computer? The text after “Local / remote network status” helps us to customize troubleshooting suggestions.

    Thank you,
    David Liao
