external sound card and built-in microphone [combine audio from multiple input devices]
-
Good evening, I play the guitar and I intend to use FarPlay to play remotely as a duo with a bassist: I use an external sound card (Apogee “Duet2”, 2 in x 2 out) on a 27 inch Mac with High Sierra operating system; for the sound of the guitar I only use virtual amplifiers (au plugins) using the jack input of the sound card and listening to the sound from the monitors connected to the output of my Duet 2.
I would like to ask the following question:
Given that my setup doesn’t require a microphone to capture guitar sound, can I combine the Mac’s built-in microphone for speaking only and the external sound card for guitar sound only? If I exclude the monitors and use headphones in the appropriate input of the Duet 2, it should work, right?
Thank you
Anthony
