I connected my computer to my router using an Ethernet cable. I turned off Wi-Fi. Now my computer can’t connect to the internet.

For some routers, you need to reboot the router after you connect your computer by Ethernet.
If your computer has an Ethernet port, try directly connecting an Ethernet cable from your computer’s Ethernet port to your router (instead of connecting your computer to a USB Ethernet adaptor that is then connected by an Ethernet cable to the router).
