How to create aggregate input to Farplay on a mac

In your reply to another post you said
“If you’d like, I can explain how to create an aggregate audio device on a Mac to bring your microphone/instrument audio and play-along audio together into FarPlay using FarPlay’s input mixer”.I think this is what I need. I am using a mixer to input mike and backing track, but I’d like to be able to separate them in the Farplay mixer and also to record then as separate tracks (I have Standard +).

Thank you for your post.
To have FarPlay record a set of tracks with your mic and backing tracks audio in separate files, I’d actually first suggest using two copies of FarPlay to join your session, one to bring in mic audio and the other to bring in backing tracks.
When you don’t need the mic and backing tracks audio to be recorded separately, it’s easy to bring both into FarPlay without an external mixer. We upgraded FarPlay’s mixer with version 1.3. Now you can select multiple audio devices to use at the same time from inside the mixer itself. Note: FarPlay records the mix of the separate tracks in the input mixer as a single mixed file.
