Garageband knocked me off! :-)

  • Oh.. here’s something interesting. I also have Musescore… I played the output of Musescore and turned off all the instruments except the drums and fed that into the mixer and it worded?! Okay… I have a work around.

I still have other questions…but I’ll research before asking here…

    cheers

    Hi George,

Thanks for your kind message (and thanks for sharing your helpful workaround). We appreciate our users’ questions!

    1. First, could you check that you’re using FarPlay 1.3.2 (released April 3rd)? Version 1.3.2 fixed a somewhat similar problem that affected another user: when they changed their audio-output device using the Mac Control Center, the Headphone selection in FarPlay changed on its own. (The root cause was incorrect handling of non-English characters in device names).
    2. If the suggestion above doesn’t fix the problem, open both FarPlay and GarageBand and then check the following:

      • Go to GarageBand > Settings > Audio/MIDI and check that the Output Device is the External Headphones.
      • In FarPlay’s Devices subpanel, check that you can set the Microphone and Headphones both to your Scarlett USB audio interface.
      • In the FarPlay Video window, click the Choose your camera button and check whether you can re-select the video camera you were using.
    3. FYI: FarPlay’s Input Mixer provides an alternative way to bring audio from other apps into FarPlay. See how easy setup was for the musician in this short video tutorial.

    Thank you,
    David Liao
