Good day, I’m on the standard plan and I’d like to know how many people can be in a session?

Hi there!

With fast connections, sessions created by Standard, Standard+, and For Teachers subscribers are great for up to about 8 participants (we know a group in which 10+ participants sometimes connect). We recommend fiber or cable internet with at least 50 Mbit/s of upload speed.

Use your subscription to authorize FarPlay on your computer, then you’ll be able to create a session with your subscription. Your guests can join without subscribing to FarPlay.

Will there be a possibility to work with more people in the future? Like doing a choir session on line.

Hi Monica,

Thanks for checking. We don’t have plans to support large groups like choirs.

The “about 8 participants” limit happens because FarPlay uses peer-to-peer connectivity (each participant sends audio/video directly to each other participant) to minimize latency. So, each time another participant joins a session, each participant in the session uses more bandwidth.
